International Long Term Theme: Soroptimists for Education & Leadership

The Long Term Project concept was developed in 2008 as part of Soroptimist International’s strategic planning process and is a project that will be owned and operated by SI. Thie project, Soroptimists for Education and Leadership, was chosen by clubs around the world and will be launched at the SI Convention in Montreal in July 2011 replacing the Quadrennial Project. The project will be the “centerpiece” of how Soroptimist works to achieve its mission to inspire action to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of clubs and international partnerships. It will be this international project that brings Soroptimist clubs and members from around the world together to work toward a common goal. Soroptimist clubs will continue to work on club, region/union or federation projects that transform the lives of women and girls.

SI is poised to transform women’s lives through this new project that will be implemented in almost 3,000 Soroptimist clubs in 123 countries.
