UN Women UK small

UN Women UK is the local representative, voice and champion for UN Women (formed in January 2011 from the amalgamation of UNIFEM and three other UN gender bodies: Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW), the Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues (OSAGI) and the UN International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (UN-INSTRAW). It supports the work of UN Women in its mission for gender equality and the empowerment of women through:

Board members represent UN Women UK at a range of events and maintain good contacts with the Department for International Development and other government agencies. They work in partnership with many other organisations including the United Nations Association, the Royal Commonwealth Society, the National Alliance of Women’s Organisations and Soroptimist International to raise awareness of women’s issues. There are close links also with the UN Women National Committees in 15 other countries across the world.

They currently have branches in Cambridge, Edinburgh, London, Northern Ireland, Wales and Yorkshire
