What happened to the six Programme Areas?
The six Programme Areas were Economic & Social Development, Education, Environment, Health, Human Rights & Status of Women and International Goodwill & Understanding. The list of objectives above embraces all of the six programme areas but is no longer listed by these categories.
In July 2007, at the International Convention in Glasgow, Programme Voting Delegates wanted the objectives to be as clear and broad for each topic as they could be and not ’limited’ by the title or category as they were before.
When completing the on-line Programme Focus Forms for the International Database only the 10 Objectives are listed. Soroptimists no longer have to allocate work to one of the six Programme Areas as before.
