South West and Channel Islands

There are 18 Clubs (click on individual clubs, below, for more information) in the South West & Channel Islands Region (SWCI) covering an area from Bristol in the West to Taunton in the East, Cirencester in the North to St Austell in the South as well as two offshore Islands, Jersey and Guernsey. Given the variety of locations, the communities in which Clubs work can be very different. But they share a common goal – to create a better world for all by making it a better world for women and children.

For more information on the work of this Region, visit their website

Although the distances involved can make it difficult to organise joint events, they have worked together on a variety projects, usually chosen by the Incoming Region President.

All Clubs give both service and funding to a number of organisations - Women’s Refuges, Hospices, Carers and the Elderly to name but a few. In many cases, Clubs were instrumental in setting up such facilities and have continued to provide the officers and committee members who run these organisations. Clubs have also supported overseas projects including providing dental equipment to Eastern Block countries, water and sanitation equipment in Nepal, HIV/AIDS projects in Zimbabwe and South Africa and school projects in Africa.
