SI Lincoln and District

Women Walking for Women

SI Lincoln and SI Scunthorpe joined forces for two walks around the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds village of Tealby. The morning started very misty and the sun broke through as the walkers(and several canine companions) arrived in the pub car park for the 10 a.m. start.

The group of around forty divided into two groups, one taking the longer five mile walk to the village of Walesby and the other group walked and explored the chocolate box village, which is on a hill with a steam and ford at the bottom. It was featured in the recent Jamie Oliver programme about school meals in Lincolnshire. The village pub has agreed to prepare lunches for the children in the village school.

After the walks, both groups ended up at the village pub for lunch. To date £200 has been raised with money still coming in.
