SI Barry & District
Congratulations to members of Barry & District who have raised the profile of Soroptimist International within the town by representation on a steering group set up by the Town Council. The steering group's specific brief was to design a survey to obtain the views of the general public on the future development of the town.

At the inaugural meeting of the steering group the representative from SI Barry was elected as Chair of the committee, which comprised ten members of the local community and five councillors.

The group is currently working on a 40-question survey for distribution later in April. It is envisaged that this will be distributed via the local newspaper. A youth survey will be distributed to all secondary schools in the area and a competition to all primary schools.

Data received will be collated and the results formulated into a Town Action Plan and recognition will be given to all involved in the undertaking. Clearly this will highlight the involvement of Soroptimist International in a significant local development.

SI Cardigan
Members of Soroptimist International Cardigan and District organised a highly successful Quiz evening to raise money and public awareness of World Water Day. Twenty-three teams of four took part in the quiz, held in a popular local pub, the Black Lion. A montage of photographs and posters from WaterAid and Soroptimist International highlighted the international work of both organisations.

The evening was a huge success and raised the sum of £250.
