WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Who are the Soroptimists?

Soroptimist International is a vibrant, dynamic organisation for today’s professional and business women. We are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.

We are the world's largest women's service organisation and through our Consultative Status at the United Nations, we strive for equality, peace and international understanding.

We have clubs around the world, from Argentina to Zimbabwe. This site covers the work done by clubs and Regions in the United Kingdom.

What we do

ukpac logo

The United Kingdom Programme Action Committee (UKPAC) provides help and guidance to Soroptimist clubs in the UK in devising, planning and carrying out their project work (known as Programme Action).

Although called the UK PAC, in addition to working with clubs in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we also work with clubs in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey. And since its inception in 1994 the Committee has established a reputation for taking action on a broad range of topics and successfully lobbying the British government in the pursuit of those objectives.

Speedy and efficient communications are crucial to the furtherance of successful Programme Action work. It is always a two-way process and the UKPAC forms an important link between Soroptimist International and the membership of the British Isles.
